Kicks On Court Weekly Recap – Fab Five Posted: 05 Mar 2011 12:28 PM PST Guards dominated this week’s Kicks On Court daily column, but one big man did reserve his spot in today’s weekly recap. Kevin Love recorded a major double double against the Golden State Warriors, while Chauncey Billups came through in the clutch while wearing his new AdiZero Infiltrates. Golden State Warriors guard Reggie Williams laced up the most sought-after release of the year so far, and Courtney Lee rocked a major Air Jordan 3 that is set to release later this year. Lastly, Nick Young revealed another one of his fresh NikeiD Zoom Kobe VIs. Check out today’s Kicks On Court Weekly Recap. We didn’t capture a lot of photos when Gilbert Arenas debuted the “Dark Neon Royal” Nike Air Foamposite One retro on court last month. Yet, we spotted Golden State Warriors guard Reggie Williams wearing this shoe earlier this week. This feature connected perfectly with Golden State’s blue Throwback jerseys. Our Kicks On Court has spotted multiple players, including Mike Bibby, Gilbert Arenas and Courtney Lee, wearing the “Cement Grey” Air Jordan 3 since its release in January. However, the latter player surprised many by wearing the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3 in a game against the New Orleans Hornets. Look for this retro to re-release later this year. If you ever wondered why they call Chauncey Billups “Big Shot”, the answer was clear and present in the New York Knicks vs Miami Heat game this past Sunday. In the last two minutes of the Knicks win, Billups scored or assisted on the Knicks last eight points. Since being a member of the Knicks, Billups has switched from the TS Lightning Creator to the AdiZero Infiltrate. Maybe he should change his selection up more often. Kevin Love cannot and will not be denied on the boards. Earlier this week, he scored 37 points and grabbed 23 rebounds against David Lee and the Golden State Warriors. The former UCLA Bruin has been doing a lot for the PEAK brand to say the least. Nick Young undoubtedly rocks the best NikeiD Kobe sneakers. Our Kicks On Court spotted Young wearing some very nice NikeiD Kobe Vs throughout the latter half of last season and the beginning of this year. Recently, we have seen him rock the best NikeiD Zoom Kobe VI on a nightly basis. His latest iD pair featured a royal scayl upper with a touch of green on the tongue in a Huarache-esque form. © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | One comment | Add to del.icio.us |
In Retrospect: Jordan 6 Rings “Premier” Posted: 05 Mar 2011 11:43 AM PST Last month, we curated an In Retrospect for the “Motorsports” Air Jordan 6. Many of you stated that you missed out on those, while others were confident in that purchase. What about the other motorsports inspired Jordan release in 2010? Around this time last year Jordan Brand released “Premier” Jordan 6 Rings which also paid tribute to MJ’s love for motorsports. Much like the aforementioned Air Jordan 6, this shoe features a simple white and black color scheme with highly-detailed premium materials. It is considered one of the better Jordan 6 Rings colorways to date. Did you purchase the Jordan 6 Rings “Premier”, and was it worth $75? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged this release last March? How does this particular colorway of the Jordan 6 Rings compare to other colorways of this shoe ("Flint", “Foamposite” Royal Blue)? Lastly, was this one of your favorite releases of 2010? Let us know your thoughts on the Jordan 6 Rings “Premier” in the comment section below! © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 5 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
adidas ZX 8000 Black/Shade Grey-Spark Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:58 AM PST The adidas ZX 8000 is a sleek running sneaker that is perfect for anybody looking for something to rock on an everyday basis. This 80′s silhouette has a plethora of panels that have been seen in some great colorways in the past. Today, another great colorway has hit retailers that is definitely one of the best we’ve seen. The pair features a predominately black synthetic upper, that extends to the heel cup. This is complimented with grey hits on the three-stripe branding, inner liner, outsole, and laces. A final hit of spark blue can be seen peeking out of the three strip logo and the tongue tag which is abruptly complimented with the tan panels on the toe cap and heel tab. Hit up your local adidas retailer to find a pair today and let us know what you think of this specific colorway. Jordan 6-17-23 “Aqua” Release Date Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:28 AM PST Following the “Carmine” Jordan 6-17-23 that released in January, Jordan Brand is set to release the Jordan 6-17-23 “Aqua” on March 12, 2011, for $145. Many of you have expressed your discontent with the Jordan 6-17-23; however, you have had nothing but positive things to say about the color schemes Jordan Brand applies to this hybrid. This particular pair will easily remind of the classic “Aqua” Air Jordan 8 thanks to its shades of purple and blue on the sole. Black nubuck makes up the majority of the base, while concord and orion blue is used on the sole, tongue and heel. Its complimentary attributes include an icy outsole, a dark grey midsole and black laces. Jordan 6-17-23 © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 8 comments | Add to del.icio.us |

ASICS Gel Lyte III Spring Lineup Posted: 04 Mar 2011 04:28 PM PST Many of the ASICS Gel Lyte IIIs we’ve seen over its meteoric rise to prominence in the sneaker culture have features luxurious details of suede and nubuck. The inline runner will return its sporty roots with its spring lineup however, with suede and durasheen appearing in heavy doses throughout the collection. Each of three shoes seen features a neutral base with at least one bright accent color, ensuring that these kicks turn some heads. They’ve not yet landed on U.S. shores, but with any luck they will be stateside soon. ASICS Gel Lyte III © Alex Kroviak for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 5 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Jordan CMFT Max Air 12 White/Wolf Grey-Black Posted: 04 Mar 2011 04:13 PM PST The Jordan CMFT Max Air 12 has been one of the more successful post-Air Jordan sneakers to release in recent times. The fusion model has been praised for its use of original silhouettes from the Air Jordan line as well as the incorporation of 360 degree air units to add comfort. Today, a new colorway has surfaced that is very reminiscent of the Air Jordan 12 “Rising Suns.”This pair makes use of a completely white upper that is set in perforated and patent leather. A black sole, air unit, tongue and inner liner add the only other color to what would otherwise be a completely monochromatic pair. A final detail that can be seen is an elephant print textured outsole. Check out more pictures below and mark your calendar for March 19th if this is a pair you’re ready to purchase.
