| In Retrospect: Parra x Nike Air Max 1 “Burgundy” Posted: 13 Mar 2011 12:43 PM PDT Usually, we highlight the classic Air Jordans and major Nike Basketball releases in our In Retrospect column; however, today we take a look back one of, if not the best Nike Air Max runner release in recent memory. Last year, Nike released its collaboration with Parra on the “Burgundy” Air Max 1 in extremely limited numbers. This shoe specifically features a burgundy suede/mesh base with a multi-colored outsole consisting of red, yellow and blue. The latter color is also seen on the laces, top laceholders and Parra tongue branding in chenille form. Were you able to get your hands on the extremely-limited Parra x Nike Air Max 1 “Burgundy”, and was it worth the money you paid for it? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged this release last March? How does this particular colorway of the Air Max 1 compare to other previously-released colorways of this classic model? | Jordan Sky High Retro TXT Low “Varsity Red” & “Wolf Grey” Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:58 AM PDT Following the Jordan Sky High Retro "Obsidian" & "Smoke" we showed you a couple of days ago, we now have photos of Jordan Brand’s Sky High Retro TXT Low for the spring season. Basically, Jordan Brand will debut a low-cut formation of the ever-so-popular Sky High Retro. Both pairs contain a predominately canvas-textured base combined with a leather toe cap. Each pair also uses a white midsole and Jumpman branding on the tongue and heel. Colorways include Wolf Grey/White and Varsity Red/White-Stealth. Look for the Jordan Sky High Retro TXT Low to hit retailers in April for $75. | Nike Free Run+ 2 White/Cool Grey-Wolf Grey Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:13 AM PDT After seeing louder makeups we catch a more subtle play on the Nike Free Run+ 2. A White/Cool Grey-Wolf Grey mixes and matches light tones for quiet contrast and depth. Mesh composes the base of the upper with a cage adding style and fit. A clean white Free midsole brings the shoe and colorway together for a fresh finish. Look for these to drop in April. So now that the Alpha Trunner is set to sport this season’s hottest color, Cool Grey, it may end up one of JB’s most popular kicks of the spring. Cool Grey mesh and a neoprene-like material come together on the upper, and a hit of patent sits on the tip of the toe. Look for this $100 sneaker in April. From new colorways of retro bring-backs to the latest in high tech runners, all sorts of options are out there. In this weekly collection of Nice Kicks staffers’ picks, we each let you in on our own tastes and preferences about the sneaks covered recently. A number of hoops shoes make the list this time around, as did a unique America-honoring SB. Which was your favorite shoe from the past week? George Kiel III Foams are usually too flashy for me, but this one is just right! It’s not as shiny and eye-catching as the other colorways, yet, it still packs a very appealing, attractive look. Although it is not particularly a shade of grey, it is still subtle enough to fall into my collection of grey shoes. Gilbert Arenas was spotted in a never-before-seen Air Jordan 13 colorway, while Kevin Durant debuted a new colorway of his signature model, the Nike Zoom KD III. Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson wore last week’s highly sought-after LeBron release, and JR Smith took the court in some of the best NikeiD Zoom Kobe VIs to date. Lastly, Kevin Love returned to our Weekly Recap by surpassing Moses Malone for most consecutive double doubles. Take a look at our Kicks On Court Weekly Recap.  Gilbert Arenas doing a reverse layup in the Air Jordan 13 Gilbert Arenas shocked the sneaker world again this week. The artist formerly known as Agent Zero debuted a never-before-seen, white/navy blue Air Jordan 13. There is still no word on if this is a PE or an unreleased sample. If it actually released to the public, would you purchase it?  Kevin Durant facing up in a Nike Zoom KD III Kevin Durant continues to impress with his unmatched ability to score the basketball. Likewise, he continues to bring out superb colorways of his third signature model, the Nike Zoom KD III. He debuted a new pair earlier this week that features a white, gold, blue and red color scheme. Is this one of the better KD III colorways to date?  JR Smith wearing a NikeiD Zoom Kobe VI The Nike Zoom Kobe VI continues to show its face in multiple arenas across the nation. We have specifically spotted some of the best NikeiD creations on this shoe from the likes of Nick Young, Spike Lee and JR Smith. The latter player wore arguably one of the best NikeiD Zoom Kobe VI colorways to date. Have you created your 1 of 1 yet?  Ty Lawson wearing the "Entourage" Nike LeBron 8 V2 Ty Lawson is flourishing in his starting point guard role in Denver. The lightning-quick guard has rocked some nice kicks in doing so. In addition to the “Veterans Day” Nike LeBron 8 and the Nike Zoom Uptempo V, our Kicks On Court spotted him in the instant classic “Entourage” Nike LeBron 8 V2 Thursday night.
