Kickin’ Back: Best Shoes Worn by the ’05 UNC Tar Heels Posted: 24 Mar 2011 12:59 PM PDT In this new series from Nice Kicks we profile great teams in history that also sported great sneakers. We break it down by the kicks on court and who rocked them. We kick off Kickin’ Back with the 2004-2005 University of North Carolina Men’s Basketball team. The Tar Heels boasted a star studded team that won both ACC and NCAA Championship honors. The 04-05 North Carolina Tar Heels were known to have a solid rotation on court and on foot. Top notch releases from Jordan Brand and Nike carried Sean May, Raymond Felton, Rashad McCants, Marvin Williams, and a host of other great players during their huge season. Take a look back at this Tar Heel tribute. Air Jordan 10Perhaps a gift from MJ, the Air Jordan 10 “Ice Blue” was worn spotted on the feet of many Tar Heels during the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Many of the team’s stars rocked this limited release as it held up on court as one of the better retros to hoop in. |

Posted: 24 Mar 2011 11:58 AM PDT Nineties fashion hasn’t been as popular since, well, the nineties, so it only makes sense that Nike’s bringing back the Air Pegasus ’92 in some great colorways for the summer. Seen here are two looks that have landed overseas and should be stateside soon. The first is rocking a hot pink ripstop nylon and white suede look with black and grey accents. The second shoe makes use of a bright blue nylon and and light beige color scheme. Orange helps out on that shoe also. Look for both at your local retailer soon. A History of Kanye West Wearing the Air Jordan 6 Posted: 24 Mar 2011 10:58 AM PDT To the dismay of some fans Yeezy did not rock his second signature at SXSW. His sneaker selection stayed on par with his current spottings rocking the Air Jordan 6 Black/Infrared. Ye stans and sneaker heads might be familiar with Mr. West’s long love of the Air Jordan 6, but most probably aren’t. Complex has compiled A History of Kanye West Wearing the Air Jordan 6 that details all his “Infrared” sightings from SXSW all the way back to his his early days. Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka “3HC” Posted: 24 Mar 2011 10:28 AM PDT Woven Air Footscapes are always divisive with readers, thanks to their avant garde styling cues and not-for-everyone details. The next rendition will take its unique design a step further from center with a chukka silhouette addition. A repeat print covers the mudguard, quarter panel and forefoot areas and the remainder of the upper is woven together with thick straps. “3HC” is a nod to the Filament Green hits appearing on the tongue, heel and liner and a second shoe is slated to come in a similar colorway. Look for this shoe to land at select stores very soon. Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka “3HC” © Alex Kroviak for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
