| In Retrospect: Air Jordan 1 AJKO Posted: 26 Mar 2011 01:13 PM PDT Over the past couple of years, we have witnessed a multitude of Air Jordan 1 releases. To some, this model has been seen way too much. However, the vintage-laced Air Jordan 1 AJKO was a different story last March. If you recall, Nike had plans of releasing the Air Jordan 1 AJKO about 20 years ago, but it never made it to the public. Therefore, sneaker enthusiasts, both young and old, flocked to retailers in hopes of snagging these shoes. The Air Jordan 1 AJKO, which features a stained sole, the Jordan Wings logo and the age-old Nike swoosh, came in white/varsity red and white/black-varsity red last March. Did you purchase the Air Jordan 1 AJKOs, and was it worth the $125 you paid for it ? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged this shoe last March? To coincide with this highly-anticipated drop, we gave you a rundown of Michael Jordan's Seven Best Games in the Air Jordan 7 in which dominated competition in colorways such as the “Raptors”, “Cardinals”, “Bordeauxs” and “Olympics”. Let’s face it; Jordan was simply an artist on the court. It seemed as if he was moving at a different speed than everybody else. Of course, an early exit for the Horns didn’t stop one writer from showing love to his alma mater, either. Which was your favorite from the past seven days? Let us know in the comments section. Matt Halfhill The running category is Charlie Sheen #winning whether it’s lightweight running, maximum impact cushioning, or retro. Nike has given us many (maybe too many) of the Air Max retros, but there are plenty of great runners sitting the vault with no visible air that are equally as hot. Glad to see that not only did Nike unearth such an awesome shoe from the long running (no pun) Pegasus line, but brought them out with justice dressing them in great colors, materials, and non-mall distribution. First off, we take a look at the Supra Skytop II “Navajo Suede”. This pair features a completely dual toned look with white and black geometric figures throughout the entire upper. The other Supra Skytop II contains an extremely high grain of “shaggy”suede set in beige. The third pair, an original Skytop, is equipped with a grey waxed twill material, and the TK Society owns a green, iridescent, full-grain leather material. | Nike Air Max 1 Honeycomb/Royal Posted: 26 Mar 2011 11:13 AM PDT Yesterday, we previewed the Nike Air Max 1 Daybreak/Myth, and it received relatively positive feedback. Today, another eye-catching colorway has hit international retailers and will soon be making its way to eager feet everywhere. This pair features a completely “honeycomb” yellow canvas/felt upper with white accents highlighting the midsole and Swoosh. In addition, an head-turning royal blue outsole can be seen under closer inspection. For all the “AM1″ fans out there, will this be a must-have? | Kicks On Court: Tar Heels, Wildcats & Others Rock Jordans in Sweet 16 Posted: 26 Mar 2011 10:38 AM PDT Yesterday, we gave you a recap of the best shoes worn in the first day of Sweet 16 games (see our Kicks On Court: Aztecs, Wildcats & Others Bring out Heat for Sweet 16). Today, we return with another Sweet 16 Kicks On Court that features UNC, Marquette, Kansas, Florida State, Ohio State, Kentucky, VCU and Richmond. UNC and Marquette faced off with a plethora of Jordan PEs on the court. The Golden Eagles wore the Jordan Evolution ’85, while a few of the Tar Heels laced up the Air Jordan 2011 UNC PE. A few of the Kentucky Widcats opted for the “Foamposite” Jordan 6 Rings, and the Ohio State Buckeyes let LeBron do the sponsor duties. Richmond and VCU provided the widest array of sneakers as their player laced up everything from the “Metallic Pewter” Nike Air Foamposite One to the “OG” Air Jordan 9. | adidas Premium Iconics “Color” Pack Posted: 26 Mar 2011 10:28 AM PDT Adidas has released photos of what is sure to be one of the most eye-catching packs this summer. This grouping, titled the adidas Premium Iconics “Color” Pack, features two beloved sneakers, the adidas Stan Smith and the adidas Artillery Mid. The adidas Stan Smith is set in a three-color iridescent, synthetic leather that is complimented with contrast leather trim and black laces. This seizure-inducing iridescent upper is sure to be a neck-breaker. The adidas Artillery Mid has been hit with a rainbow-color sequence overlay and outsole, which is also complimented with a predominately black leather upper.
