Nike Air Max Penny 1 Wolf Grey/White

Posted: 03 May 2011 01:05 PM PDT

Nike Air Max Penny 1 Wolf Grey/White

The last few months have been huge for Penny Hardaway’s signature sneaker line, with 2011 retro returns including the “Dark Neon Royal” Foamposite One to the “Orlando” Air Max Penny 1. This new take on the latter silhouette may not bear OG coloring, but nevertheless has had readers’ attention since we first previewed it months ago. Wolf Grey nubuck covers the entire upper, creating a clean, neutral look. The midsole forefoot and “wing” on the quarter panel are both white. The Penny logo on the heel, piping and other accents wear black, for further detailing. This shoe, which is one of 1995′s hottest sneakers dressed in 2011′s most popular color scheme, is available now at Nice Kicks and by phone at 512.320.8100.

Signature Showdown: Best and Worst Sneaker Sequels Part II (Big Men)

Posted: 03 May 2011 11:31 AM PDT

Signature Showdown

Last Tuesday, we kicked off part I of our Signature Showdown series dubbed the Best and Worst Sneaker Sequels Part II (Wingmen). We highlighted the first and second models of the most celebrated signature basketball wingmen such as Michael Jordan, Grant Hill, LeBron James, Vince Carter and many more. Was the FILA The Hill better than the FILA Grant Hill II? Did the Nike Air Pippen I garner your attention more than the Nike Air Pippen II?

Today, we bring you part II of Signature Showdown: Best and Worst Sneaker Sequels. This time, we highlight the first and second signature shoes of all of the dominant big men to ever play. We showcase the primary and sequel shoes of players such as Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley and many more power forwards/centers in part II. Which one of Shawn Kemp’s Kamikazes interested you the most? Was the Nike Air CB34 Barkley’s best? Again, we're letting you make the decision.

Check out our Signature Showdown: Best and Worst Sneaker Sequels Part II (Big Men).

Worn: 1995-96
Team: Seattle Supersonics
Accomplishments: Led the Sonics to a franchise-record 64 wins and their second NBA Finals appearance in franchise history, averaged of 23 points and 10 rebounds in the Finals.

Reebok created a couple of unique, one-of-a-kind designs for the one we call Reignman. Both, the Kamikaze I and II, featured an intriguing wavy, zigzag-esque element on the side; however, the Kamikaze II is the shoe that won over most sneaker enthusiast. It was also the shoe he wore while leading the Sonics to the Finals.

Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Preview

Sex sells. So do Ronnie Fieg’s ASICS designs. Enter, this summer sneaker preview. Though it’s hard to make out too much, it’s clear the Fieg made use of a bright colorway. What looks to be a royal nubuck/suede provides a base for brighter highlights. Expect more information, a barely safe for work photo shoot and release details to surface soon.
