Kevin Durant Has Hopes of a Foamposite KD Posted: 05 Jul 2011 01:28 PM PDT The story of Kevin Durant's signature sneaker line is often told and one that's held true. Growing up with only three pairs of shoes as a teenager, KD has made sure that his signatures are affordable and hover right around an $88 price tag. With the Nike Zoom KD IV on the way he does have one more request though, a Foamposite version to pay tribute to his DC fans. “I told Nike to make a Foamposite pair of the KD IV,” Durant said. “Hopefully people in DC will pick them up and support me. They always do that anyway but I’m sure if I throw some Foams out there they will do it even more.” The KD IV will carry over the Zoom Air cushioning and the low-cut seen on the KD III along with adjustable midfoot straps and Thunderbolt traction. Stay tuned to see if it gets a Foamposite makeup. Source: NewsOK © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us | |

LeBron Autographs Shoes for Basketball Camp “Dunk Victim” Posted: 05 Jul 2011 12:28 PM PDT A few summers ago, it was a video of LeBron being dunked on that took over the web. This time around, it’s a vid of LeBron doing the dunking. Last week, a camera phone video spread of an unlucky skills camp attendee being on the wrong end of a King James dunk. Naturally, the high school junior didn’t have much of a chance of staying on his feet after the collision (Imagine a bike on a train track), but the story does have a happy ending. LeBron saw it fit to present the camper with a special gift: autographed Nikes. The camper’s bruises, both to his body and ego, will probably heal long before having a pair of worn and autographed LeBrons isn’t very, very cool. The Doggfather’s Footwear: 1 on 1 with Snoop Dogg Posted: 05 Jul 2011 10:58 AM PDT "I worked with the designers at adidas to come with a look that was casual but athletic, stylish AND comfortable…classic but new and fresh…a shoe like the big Snoop Dogg. They did a good job incorporating my comments, and we created something real dope and the people have been responding well." – Snoop Dogg Although you may primarily associate Snoop Dogg with Chuck Taylors, the West Coast rap legend has been a big time supporter of adidas over the years. Whether he has been spotted escorting Darth Vader down the streets of New York, backing Kobe Bryant signature adidas sneakers or persuading world-renowned athletes to wear his shoe, Snoop Doggy Dogg has definitely represented for Three Stripes very well. The D – O Double G spoke with us about a number of topics including his involvement in the Snoop Dogg x adidas Freemont project, his disappointment of the Lakers’ season, Matt Barnes’ choice to wear his “Snoop Dogg” adiPures and of course, what sneakers he has in rotation. View our in-depth, three-page 1-on-1 interview with Snoop Dogg below. RELATED: Kicks On Courtside: Top 35 Celebrity Sneaker Sightings this Season Nice Kicks: What happened to your Lakers? Snoop Dogg: Next question! Just kidding. Pau didn't show up in the playoffs, and you can't expect Kobe to be Jordan when Pau is not acting like Pippen. We got beat by a Mavs team that was playing out of their minds. You have to give Dirk and them respect. We can't win every year, but trust me, we'll be right back in the mix next year, ya dig? Nice Kicks: Matt Barnes wore the adidas adiPure “Snoop Dogg” when he got ejected from the Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers game late in the season. Is he one of your favorite players on The Lake Show? Snoop: Matt’s my boy! I been real cool with a whole lot of the Lakers’ players over the years, but he's the first to show love and wear my shoes in the game. That was big having the D-O-double G eyes on that Staples hardwood. Nice Kicks: Were you in attendance during that game, and did you know Barnes was wearing this shoe? Snoop: I knew he'd be wearing the shoe, but I think I was on tour promoting my latest album, Doggumentary. I been around the world and back, jacc!
Nice Kicks: Who rocks the best sneakers courtside at the Lakers games? Snoop: Shout out to David Beckham. If u look real close you may have seen him representing the Snoop Doggs live and in person. Nice Kicks: You pushed the adidas Kobe 2 a few years back. Would you still rock it? Snoop: Yeah I would! Adidas stays pushing the envelope with their designs, and that's part of why we work so well together. I usually like to stay with more of their classic look, but sometimes I be on that space age sh*t too. Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 “Matte Black” Posted: 05 Jul 2011 10:44 AM PDT It may be 2011, but Nike Basketball is channeling early-nineties Wolverines style with its new Hyperdunk offering. Matte Black Flywire is used for the construction of the entire upper, with a gloss Swoosh and collar and dark grey outsole serving for contrast. The latest addition to the Hyperdunk line is already the most aggressively designed to date, and this murdered out colorway has it looking intimidating enough to scare competition right off the court. Posted: 05 Jul 2011 10:28 AM PDT Everything is bigger in Texas, sneaker events included. This past weekend, Cowboy Stadium played host to the fifth anniversary of Kixpo. Attendees were able to buy, sell, trade, and compliment cool kicks on the home turf of America's team. Mayor ran the play-by-play and Stalley laid down the halftime show at a great event that brought many sneakerheads together.
