Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:58 PM PDT Being a Jordan Brand employee has its perks. Today, Josiah Lake gives us a taste of just how sweet it is to be a part of one of the most iconic brands in the sneaker industry. The Beaverton Oregon employee has snapped a few quick shots of his personal pair of Air Jordan 5 Low Black/Purple. Without the number ’10′ stitched onto the heel, this pair can’t officially be called a Mike Bibby PE so for now, we will go with what Josiah called it: the “Purple Haze” colorway. Check out more images of this never-before-seen pair below and notice the upcoming Air Jordan Retros (Air Jordan IV “Cement” and Air Jordan 3 Black/Cement) lurking in the background. Air Boardin’: 12 Possible “Air Jordan” Nike SB Sneaks Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:43 PM PDT Before there where skate shoes, there were just shoes you wore to skate. ’80s and ’90s riders had to make due with what the had and often found themselves skating in now-classic basketball shoes like the Blazer and of course, the Air Jordan 1. Since then, and especially since Nike Skateboarding started producing Jordan-inspired Dunks, the tie between MJ and skateboarders has only grown stronger. And with this weekend bringing us the Dunk Low Pro “Space Jam,” we felt it was only right to speculate on some more possible SB “Air Jordan” takes. None of these are set to hit stores anytime soon, but don’t be surprised to see the two Nike, Inc. entities link up again soon. Check out these mock-ups. Nike SB Dunk High
Plush suede or nubuck is a staple on SBs, so the fit is natural. The midsole shape doesn’t lend itself to AJ6 coloring, but a slight detail like the signature pull tab would be a nice touch. It’d be functional for actual skateboarders, too, keeping their pants out from under their heels.
