My 5: Joe La Puma’s Sneaker Rotation Posted: 26 Aug 2011 11:58 AM PDT Joe La Puma's the man behind many of your favorite Complex cover stories. His rise in the magazine industry has literally been from the ground up as an interest in sneakers has propelled much of his success. Talking to Tinker, shopping with Capo, and inventing Celebrity Sneaker Stalker all highlight the resume of a man that's met MJ and lists Clark Kent as a personal friend. We caught up with Joe to see what's on his feet these days. Read on to see what he messes with aesthetically. Air Jordan 3 "Doernbecher" Joe La Puma: "I remember arguing with Clark and Mayor at the end of the year wrap up about how these weren't hot. They were pushing to include these in the top ten and I was totally against it. I saw them in real life a couple months later and was like 'wow, those are really hot' and I even told Clark and Mayor that I f*cked up. Sometimes you pay the price for sleeping on sneakers and that's what happened with these. I got them in June and I wear them 3-4 times a week easily. Red sneakers are my favorite. I'll wear a blue shirt with red sneakers; I don't really care. I love red sneakers and I love that these are for a cause." Air Jordan 3 “Stealth” Official Photos Posted: 26 Aug 2011 11:30 AM PDT Following the release date information we relayed to you a couple of days ago, we now have official photos of the Air Jordan 3 “Stealth” provided by Jordan Brand. Although many may be impatiently anticipating the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3, this Air Jordan 3 “Stealth” is expected to garner interest. Stealth nubuck makes up the majority of the upper, while Light Graphite shows up in the form of the cement print sections. Varsity Red hints, such as the laceholders, tongue border and Jumpman branding, provide nice color contrast. As stated in our previous post, the Air Jordan 3 “Stealth” will release on September 3, 2011, for $150.

An In-Depth Look at Opium in Paris Posted: 26 Aug 2011 09:59 AM PDT Today, we continue our spotlight of some of the hottest retail spots in Paris, France. Following our showcase of the Black Rainbow and Shinzo, we turn our focus to the beloved Opium store. The Paris hot spot opened its doors in 2001 and has maintained a strong, interacting relationship with Nike and Jordan Brand since 2002. Therefore, Opium, a Tier Zero account, plans to collaborate with the two aforementioned brands later this year for their 10th anniversary. Although Opium opened its doors to a new spot in Rotterdam (2009) and developed an online store in the same year, their plans of expanding are far from over. One of their dreams is to expand the brand to every major capitol of the world in boutique and museum form. View the video feature above to learn about the origin, future plans and additional details of Opium. © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 14 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
