In Retrospect: Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 12:43 PM PDT

Air Jordan 6 "Infrared" Pack

Sure, the “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 11 was easily the most anticipated Jordan release of 2010; however, was it the best Jordan release of the year? If you recall, Jordan Brand soaked up all of the attention over the summer last year by unleashing the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack. It marked the second time we would see the “Black Infrared” Air Jordan 6 release to the public since its original offering in 1991. Yet, it became the first time we’d see the “White Infrared” in stores since its original release.

Were you able to get your hands on the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack, and was it worth the money you paid for it? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged this pack last June? Lastly, was this one of your favorite Air Jordan Retro releases of 2010? Let us know your thoughts on the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack in the comment section below!

**Note** Also, check out our Air Jordan 6 Black/Infrared 1991 vs. 2000 vs. 2010 comparison on the second page.

This Day In Sneaker History: The Nike Swoosh Turns 40

This Day In Sneaker History: The Nike Swoosh Turns 40

Over the hill? Nope, forever young. Back in 1971 Carolyn Davis was a graphic design student at Portland State University that "couldn't afford to take oil painting". Phil Knight, an accounting professor at the school, approached Davis about a freelance project. She accepted, and after roughly 17.5 hours of work she presented Knight with what is now known as the Swoosh. On June 18th, 1971 the US Patent Office recorded the logo. It's been uphill for Nike ever since.

Celebrity Rewind: Eminem Rocks "Cement" Air Jordan 4 to '99 VMAs

Back in 1999 a lot rappers acted like they forgot about Js. With boots and bling dominating hip-hop fashion and airwaves it was time for a change. Enter Marshall Mathers. Rather then step in the club in the same pair of Lugz, Eminem made his MTV VMA debut in the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement retro. He'd later hold his own on stage in the Nike Air Powermatic.

Slim Shady would continue to rock Mikes for the duration of his career and later collaborate on his own Air Jordan 4. Don't you wanna grow up to be just like Em?

In Retrospect: “Cough Drop” Nike Air Foamposite One

Posted: 17 Jun 2011 12:55 PM PDT

"Cough Drop" Nike Air Foamposite One

Nike Foamposite releases have been consistent over the past couple of years to say the least. Last year saw the release of the “Copper” Foams, the “Eggplant” Foams, the “Pearl” Foamposite Pros and these “Cough Drop” Foams. The latter is our highlight in the “In Retrospect” column. If you recall, Nike initially unleashed this shoe in limited numbers during mid June; however, the increased want for this shoe caused Nike to re-release the “Cough Drop” Foams again during the holiday season.

Did you purchase the “Cough Drop” Nike Air Foamposite One, and was it worth the money you paid for it? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged them last June/December or were you intrigued by another Foamposite release? Lastly, was this one of your favorite releases of 2010? Let us know your thoughts on the “Cough Drop” Nike Air Foamposite One in the comment section below!
