Missoni x Converse Chuck Taylor Posted: 16 Jun 2010 01:28 PM PDT Missoni, a modern Italian brand, released its first collaborative effort with Converse in mid-April. Following that interesting Chuck Taylor release, both sides are set to release yet another Chuck Taylor this fall/winter season. This particular Chuck Taylor features a similar zig zag pattern throughout the entire upper; yet, it possesses a darker color scheme than the previously-mentioned pair. In detail, it seems as if black and off-white are paired together in the zig zag fabric attribute. Lastly, this sneaker contains a brown leather inner lining/tongue and a white, vulcanized sole. Footwear Faceoff: Jaden Smith vs. Kid Cudi Posted: 16 Jun 2010 12:58 PM PDT Kid Cudi and Jaden Smith may have more in common than meets the eye. Both made their way to stardom “pursuing happiness”, both are starting promising acting careers, and both have fresh sneaker games. The unlikely pair face each other in today’s showdown by wearing two unlikely pairs of shoes that are not Jordans (gasp!). Cudi was edged out by Kanye in one of the closet Footwear Faceoffs to date earlier this week. Will he take it home today? Let us know by voting in our Footwear Faceoff poll below.

Air Jordan 6 Retro “LA Lakers” Unreleased Sample Posted: 16 Jun 2010 12:28 PM PDT The Air Jordan 6 is considered by many one of the best in the line. When the “LA Lakers” inspired colorway came out in May, fans had mixed feelings on this release, especially on the use of 3M. For Jordan enthusiasts wondering “what could have been”, the Air Jordan 6 Retro “LA Lakers” has surfaced in an unreleased sample variation on eBay (size 9). This alternative version features an all black suede upper as opposed to a combination of suede and 3M. Subtle differences come in the use of white on the outsole and lace locks over black. Purple and yellow contrast stitching highlight both versions tying in the Laker’s theme. Do you prefer the all suede version to the released 3M version or did JB do it right the first time? Let us know your thoughts on this sample and the released version in our comment section.

Posted: 16 Jun 2010 11:58 AM PDT As of late Supra has been taking the sneaker game by storm with the success of the Skytop line along with heavy celebrity endorsement. Stepping away from the flashy hi tops that got them on, The Thunder is a more simplistic style. Relying on an all canvas upper set on a vulcanized outsole, The Thunder provides a classic look with minimal branding. The Thunder is now shipping and will be available in three colorways at Supra dealers. Skater Jim Greco’s signature model comes in White Pinstripe Canvas, White Canvas, and Yellow Canvas.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Cool Grey/Varsity Royal Posted: 16 Jun 2010 11:28 AM PDT No basketball shoe has garnered as much attention lately as the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse. Due in part to Rajon Rondo’s spectacular play in the new model and an array of new colorways popping up each day, it is clear the Hyperfuse is on the mind of all hoopers and sneaker heads. A sample of a new makeup has been spotted on eBay in a Cool Grey/Varsity Royal colorway. Possibly drawing inspiration from Rondo’s Wildcat alma mater this model is composed of a primarily cool grey Fuse upper with royal accents. Aside from a unique colorway, this makeup also features a new ankle graphic. Is this the best Hyperfuse colorway yet? If this colorway were to release would you purchase? As stated earlier, a size 9 sample is now available on eBay.

That shoe has since become available and can be yours now directly from the USATF store. A bright blue Lunar sole on the underside is matched up with the contrast stitching on the toe, heel and tope eyelet. Red accents appear elsewhere on the white mesh upper. Special USA Track & Field emblems appear on the tongue tag and as a repeating pattern on the insole.
