Nike Air Force 1 Low “Workboot” Medium Grey Closer Look Posted: 26 Oct 2010 11:28 AM PDT The “Workboot” concept has been a popular amongst brands this fall/winter season. Specifically, Nike has applied this boot-like construction to a number of Air Force 1 including this Medium Grey low-top. Premium leather is the chosen texture for the upper, and it is complimented nicely with a sail-colored sole. Other complimentary attributes include black boot-like laces, gold eyelets, a perforated swoosh and a monochromatic inner lining. This Air Force 1 Low is now starting to show up at select retailers worldwide. Jordan Pure J White/French Blue-Flint Grey Posted: 26 Oct 2010 10:58 AM PDT Thought Jordan Brand was only bringing it with the retros this season? Think again. The Jordan Pure J finds a completely original Team J design in a familiar colorway. Using the White/French Blue-Flint Grey motif seen on the retro+ Air Jordan 12 and similarly on the upcoming “Flint” Air Jordan 13 this model fuses new lines and classic colors. Built for the court the Pure J features visible Max Air in the heel and relies on clean lines. These are available now at Eastbay. Diamond Supply Co. Footwear Preview Posted: 26 Oct 2010 10:28 AM PDT Diamond Supply Co. has a long history of sneaker collaborations, having worked with DVS and of course, Nike SB. For summer of 2011 though, Diamond will launch its own footwear line. We first learned of these upcoming sneakers this past summer when Diamond & DVS signed a licensing agreement, but Nicky Diamonds gave us our first look via Twitter today. Of course he revealed very little, but the line already shows promise and contains a variety of material make-ups. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months. Diamond Supply Co. Ron Artest Leaves PEAK for Ball’N Posted: 26 Oct 2010 10:08 AM PDT Throughout the off-season and pre-season, we have learned of multiple players switching and/or leaving sneaker brands such as Kevin Garnett (now with Anta), Derek Fisher (now with adidas) and Gilbert Arenas (no longer with adidas). Los Angeles Lakers small forward Ron Artest is the latest player to make news on the sneaker front. Artest will no longer wear PEAK, as he has switched to upstart brand Ball’N. Ball’N, a footwear/apparel brand, was started by Chicago native Rodney Jeter in 1991. Ball’N has been providing apparel to the basketball circuit in Chicago since the mid-90s; however, its newly-designed sneaker collection will debut in retailers during the spring of 2011. Ron Artest will be the first NBA player to wear Ball’N sneakers. These performance-based sneakers are centered around the newly-discovered d3o technology. Supposedly, the lightweight, flexible material specializes in protection more than any performance attribute. Look for Ron Artest to wear his new Ball’N sneaker in tonight’s Houston Rockets-Los Angeles Lakers game. Meanwhile, view photos of the Ball’N shoe, along with a photo of Ron Artest, below. Video: Dwyane Wade in Dominate Another Day Posted: 26 Oct 2010 09:44 AM PDT Last month we caught word that D-Wade and comedian Kevin Hart were filming a commercial for Jordan Brand together. Today we see the first ad spot of the campaign in JB’s “Dominate Another Day”. The most dynamic action duo since Schwarzenegger and Arnold in True Lies, Wade and Hart help launch the latest marketing effort from Jordan. Aside form cool visuals, this viral short also makes clear references to this past offseason and Miami’s title hopes. In Wade’s quest to “bring the rings back to Miami”, Kevin Hart makes some clear allusions to the team and the competition: “How did you get the king to the royal court?”- Bringing LeBron to Miami The profiles Wade asked for: Snake Charmer- Kobe Bryant aka the Black Mamba and the Lakers The Illusionists- Orlando Magic The Green Gang- Boston Celtics With more ads to come, what are your thoughts on this new campaign? © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Nike Zoom Kobe V “Ring Ceremony” Posted: 26 Oct 2010 08:58 AM PDT As highlighted in yesterday’s Kicks On Court: Kobe Bryant’s Greatest Sneakers of 2009-2010 feature, the Black Mamba has had some very special colorways of his sneakers designed to highlight his career achievements. The “Ring Ceremony,” which one has to assume Bryant will wear when the Lakers receive their NBA Championship rings tonight, is the latest to boast of his accomplishments. The Concord purple upper shows hand drawn “Five,” “V” and “5″ designs in Midwest Gold. Those designs refer to Kobe’s 5 championship rings and the shoe itself is a follow-up to the Zoom Kobe IV “4 Rings”. This quickstrike release will hit very select retailers tomorrow, October 27th. UNDFTD is currently taking pre-orders now.
