Distinct Life x New Balance 30 For 30: Day 4 (NB 501 Black/Blue) Posted: 04 Jun 2011 12:06 PM PDT If you recall, Burn Rubber’s Rick Williams wore a red, white and navy New Balance 501 for day 1 of the Distinct Life x New Balance 30 For 30. For day 4, we see him in the New Balance 501 again. This time, it features a simple yet stylish black/blue color scheme. Besides being extremely lightweight and breathable, the 501 is one of the more comfortable New Balance models ever created. The outsole is very similar to that seen on the classic New Balance 574 model. As seen in the photos, black nylon controls the majority of the upper with a little touch of black suede on the toe cap and heel panel. The blue hints, such as the inner lining and tongue logo, bring a nice, vibrant element to this silhouette, along with the white laces and New Balance logo. This New Balance 501 Black/Blue will hit retailers on July 11, 2011. New Balance 501 Black/Blue © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us |

Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse New Colors Posted: 04 Jun 2011 10:41 AM PDT Hyperfuse technology continues to be one of the leading innovations for Nike. The lightweight material has been seen on a variety of silhouettes ranging from basketball performance to lifestyle sneakers. The first pair features a black mesh base and is layered with white and blue accents while the second pair uses a grey base mesh layer with a similarly built white and pink overlay. Finally, the third and final pair set to release later this summer features an almost tennis-ball like look with a predominately white mesh upper and neon yellow accents. This Day In Sneaker History: MJ Shrugs Off Blazers in ’92 NBA Finals Posted: 03 Jun 2011 06:55 PM PDT Dirk Nowitzki may have had one of those timeless, memorable moments in last night’s game 2 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat Finals. Whether it is talked about 20 years from now remains to be seen; however, there are many more classic moments in NBA history that we will highlight in our ‘This Day In Sneaker History’ column. 19 years ago, MJ had one of those moments in game 1 of the Portland Trail Blazers vs. Chicago Bulls ’92 NBA Finals. Specifically, MJ scored 35 points in the second half, including six three-pointers, while wearing the “Raptors” Air Jordan 7. He went on to wear this shoe throughout the 1992 NBA Finals and helped lead the Bulls to their second consecutive title.
