Celebrity Rewind: MJ Drops 46 at MSG in the Air Jordan 11 Low IE Posted: 15 Jul 2011 01:28 PM PDT This week's Celebrity Rewind is a little more like Footwear Flashback, but when you're the GOAT who needs rules? While some may feel this weekend's Jordan release lacks nostalgia due impart to the absence of patent leather, subtle cement print, and mysterious initials, this video suggests otherwise. Back in 1996 MJ led the Bulls into Madison Square Garden against a tough Knicks team. The physical, OT thriller would see Jordan finish with 46 points wearing none other than the Air Jordan 11 Low I.E. Black/Varsity Red. Celebrity: Michael Jordan Air Jordan 11 Low I.E. Nike Air Diamond Turf White/Varsity Royal Posted: 15 Jul 2011 12:49 PM PDT Deion Sanders ran a 4.21 second forty yard dash entering the NFL. You'll never do that. You can rock the Deion look though, thanks to this new colorway of the Nike Air Diamond Turf. Though past colorways saw this silhouette bear the coloring inspired by Deion's past teams, this one strays from tradition and sports a white, black and Varsity Royal make-up. This shoe's legacy is undeniable and this colorway is solid. You can scoop this one now at Nice Kicks (by phone at 512.320.8100) for $105. Posted: 15 Jul 2011 12:34 PM PDT Do not think for a second that ‘white on whites’ are a thing of the past. An all-white Air Force 1 is still one of the go-to sneakers every time the summer rolls around. Therefore, Nike Sportswear is set to release a extremely limited, white-on-white “NYC” Nike Air Force 1 tomorrow. In detail, the Nike Sportswear ice cream truck will be parked outside of 21 Mercer Street in SoHo starting at 11AM, serving up delicious ice cream and the limited run of the “NYC” Nike Air Force 1s. Will you try your luck at these? Nike Air Force 1 "NYC" © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | One comment | Add to del.icio.us |
My 5: Russ Bengtson’s Sneaker Rotation Posted: 15 Jul 2011 11:58 AM PDT When it comes to the writing business Russ Bengtson is a boss. Not the kind that wears short sleeve jackets or travels with the E Street Band, but the kind that oversees, interprets, and moves a culture. After blazing a trail at SLAM Magazine that includes the groundbreaking KICKS issue, Russ now serves as the Sneaker Editor at Complex. Perhaps the only thing deeper than his resume is his sneaker collection. Between game worn PEs and unreleased samples, Russ has it all and wears it. For real. While his current rotation is more half pipe than hardwood, it's still rich in flavor. What's he wearing these days? Read on to find out. Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Black/Cement Russ Bengtson: "I bought them new when they dropped. When I first heard about that shoe I was super psyched about the idea of someone else doing the cement Air Jordan 3 print; it hadn't been done yet. I've been wearing them pretty consistently since then. They've taken some time off, but they've taken a beating. I really wanted the white ones too but that just never happened." New Nike Zoom KD III Colorways Spotted on Kevin Durant’s China Tour Posted: 15 Jul 2011 11:09 AM PDT Kevin Durant is seemingly becoming a well-received megastar across the waters. What’s not to love about this guy? It seems as if Nike loves him just as much as the fans that are coming out to see him on his current China tour. Photos of Durant wearing a Metallic Silver/Black Nike Zoom KD III PE surfaced on the web, along with another never-before-seen KD III colored in navy, orange and photo blue. Lastly, a black/white version was spotted, which could very well be a NikeiD creation. If any of these actually released, would you purchase? Stay tuned for additional information regarding Kevin Durant’s China tour. Nike Dunk Low Velvet Brown/Team Red Posted: 15 Jul 2011 10:28 AM PDT The ever-popular Nike Dunk Low has been spotted in a colorway we first debuted on the Nike Dunk High Velvet Brown/Team Red earlier this week. This pair uses the exact same tones as the above-mentioned pair with slight variations on the exact location of materials. A dark velvet brown canvas is used for the front two thirds of the shoe while a smooth team red leather is applied to the heel panel. The pair is finished with matching brown laces as well as a white midsole and brown outsole. Check out more images below and look for this pair to release sometime this summer.
